Log Cabins

Kicking Horse Log Cabins

This cabin is built with Douglas fir logs using the Scandinavian full scribe, shrink-fit saddle notch.  It boasts 1400 square feet of living area and features two 8’ x 24’ covered decks off the main living area and an 8’ x 24’ covered balcony off the main sleeping quarters.  Log beams, pole rafters and 4 log dormers complete the design.

Situated on 22 acres of forested land, within the comfort of the Rocky Mountain, Selkirk and Purcell mountain ranges.

Bill and Jeannette welcome you to experience the peace and tranquility of log home living in the mountains, and wish to offer you the key to their cabin.

"When we build, let us think that we build forever.  Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone.  Let it be such work as our descendants will thank us for; and let us think, as we lay stone on stone, that a time is to come when those stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, “See!  This our father did for us.”- John Ruskin

It is with the utmost reverence that we dedicate this cabin to the loving memory of our fathers:  Richard Mercer and Armand Pelletier.  They taught us the value of labour and that perfection may never be achieved, but is a worthy endeavour none-the-less.

With Sincere Gratitude,

Bill & Jeannette
